WORST EVER SECURITY FLAW FOUND IN DIEBOLD TS VOTING MACHINE “This may be the worst security flaw we have seen in touch screen voting machines,” says Open Voting Foundation president, Alan Dechert. Upon examining the inner workings of one of the most popular paperless touch screen voting machines used in public elections in the United States, it has been determined that with the flip of a single switch inside, the machine can behave in a completely different manner compared to the tested and certified version.
Was the 2004 Election Stolen?
Republicans prevented more than 350,000 voters in Ohio from casting ballots or having their votes counted -- enough to have put John Kerry in the White House. BY ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.
"A 'hack test' in that county revealed that an entirely election could have its results flipped by a hacker exploiting that "interpreted code" -- without a trace being left behind."

"The other thing that no one has mentioned is the fact that the Diebold machines don’t comply with the state’s paper trail law because they don’t provide blind or visually impaired voters with a ‘read-back’ of what the paper trail recorded, they only read back what the machine recorded electronically, noted Bowen."
Government Accountability Office report confirms key 2004 stolen election findings (PDF)
Hold on to your lugnuts, ES&S and Sequoia may risk Hursti-style hack
In an exclusive interview by BBV investigator Jim March with Dr. Douglas Jones, University of Iowa associate professor and a former voting machine examiner for the state of Iowa, it was learned that one of the most widely-used voting machines over the last 15 years may suffer from design flaws broadly similar to Diebold's version 1.94 and 1.96 optical scan system.
In 2006, Voting Fraud is the Keystone Issue
"The ballot is the heart of democracy. If one party “owns” the ballot box, it owns the government, for that party is no longer answerable to the will of the people; it rules without the “consent of the governed.” Thus it is no wonder that the Bush regime and the GOP want to keep this issue off the public agenda. We can’t allow them to succeed. It’s as simple as that."

GAO report upholds Ohio vote fraud claims
"This powerful and probing report takes a hard look at the election of 2004 and supports the contention that the election was stolen. The report has received almost no coverage in the national media.

...Some of the GAO’s findings are:
1. Some electronic voting machines did not encrypt cast ballots or system audit logs, and it was possible to alter both without being detected. In short, the machines; provided a way to manipulate the outcome of the election. In Ohio, more than 800,000 votes were cast on electronic voting machines, some registered seven times Bush’s official margin of victory.

2: the report further stated that: it was possible to alter the files that define how a ballot looks and works, so that the votes for one candidate could be recorded for a different candidate. Very many sworn statements and affidavits claim that did happen in Ohio in 2004.

...The GAO additionally found that access to the voting network was very easy to compromise because not all electronic voting systems had supervisory functions protected by password. That meant access to one machine gave access to the whole network."
Election Fraud Continues in the US, New Data Shows Widespread Vote Manipulations in 2004
"More importantly national exit polls showed Kerry winning in 2004. However, It was only in precincts where there were no paper trails on the voting machines that the exit polls ended up being different from the final count. According to Dr. Steve Freeman, a statistician at the University of Pennsylvania, the odds are 250 million to one that the exit polls were wrong by chance. In fact, where the exit polls disagreed with the computerized outcomes the results always favored Bush - another statistical impossibility. . "

Reporter Who Told Story of 2004 Vote Thievery Hushed by Mainstream Media Mogul
So what did Robert C. Koehler write that was considered so controversial by the Establishment press?

Let’s simply ask why the lines were so long and the voting machines so few in Columbus and Cleveland and inner-city and college precincts across the country, especially in the swing states, causing an estimated one-third of the voters in these precincts to drop out of line without casting a ballot.

This, mind you, is just for starters. We might also ask why so many Ph.D.-level mathematicians and computer programmers and other numbers-savvy scientists are saying that the numbers don't make sense. . . . Indeed, the movement to investigate the 2004 election is led by such people, because the numbers are screaming at them that something is wrong.

And we might, no, we must, ask with more seriousness than the [mainstream] media have asked about those exit polls, which in years past were extraordinarily accurate but last November went haywire, predicting Kerry [winning] by roughly the margin by which he ultimately lost to Bush. This swing is out of the realm of random chance, forcing chagrined pollsters to hypothesize a shy Republican factor as the explanation; and the media have bought this evidence- free absurdity because it spares them the need to think about the F-word: fraud.

Link to original article at the author's web site:
"The silent scream of numbers: The 2004 election was stolen - will someone please tell the media?"

Introduction: Did George W. Bush steal America's 2004 election?
"In the months after the election, dozens of polling experts and statisticians have scrutinized every corner of the public exit polling data as it stacks up against the official vote counts. The major pollsters and their national media clients still refuse to release the raw data. The consensus, as shown here, is that the reversal of Kerry's fortunes late on election night was in essence a statistical impossibility, with the odds at roughly 1 in 950,000. According to these experts, John Kerry should have been inaugurated in January, 2005. ... Ironically, just prior to the 2004 US election, similar exit polls led to the reversal of a presidential election in Ukraine, where mass demonstrations forced a re-vote. The challenger's "defeat" in the first voting ran so clearly counter to the exit polls that a second vote was forced, which he won.
The Bush administration supported the revote in the Ukraine. But there was no parallel reversal here."
State likely to overlook Diebold flaws. Officials expected to OK voting system despite problems on tests.
In less than a week, state officials are poised to approve a new Diebold electronic-voting system that several large counties, including Alameda, want to use. But the system showed problems in security, protection of voter privacy and printing of a paper trail during testing this spring.

Investigators find evidence of voter fraud in Milwaukee
"Investigators say the box was just one example of a sloppy system of record keeping that may have led to hundreds of illegal votes and 4,600 more votes recorded than people registered to cast ballots."

Jim Lampley The Biggest Story of Our Lives
"We know that professionally conceived samples simply do not yield results which vary six, eight, ten points from eventual data returns, that's why there are identifiable margins for error. We know that margins for error are valid, and that results have fallen within the error range for every Presidential election for the past fifty years prior to last fall. NEVER have exit polls varied by beyond-error margins in a single state, not since 1948 when this kind of polling began. In this past election it happened in ten states, all of them swing states, all of them in Bush's favor. Coincidence? Of course not."
The New Diebold Printers
"Also a problem with this new system is the fact that all records are printed, in the order that they were cast, on a single roll of paper. If anyone wanted to match ballots to voters who cast those ballots this system simplifies that task. The right to the secrecy of the vote is under attack when these machines are used."
Scientific Analysis Suggests US Presidential Vote Counts May Have Been Altered
Scientific Analysis Suggests Presidential Vote Counts May Have Been Altered - Group of University Professors Urges Investigation of 2004 Election
"Who chooses what government we live under? Those who cast the votes, or as Stalin observed, those who count them? Do We The People pick those who govern us, or does a private company, owned by the CIA controlled media, and operating without any public oversight? Have We The People consented by vote to bear the $14 trillion burden of a government's reckless fiscal policy, or was that consent and that vote fraudulently obtained?"
A Corrupted Election - Despite what you may have heard, the exit polls were right
"With that statement the pollsters confirm the discrepancy we initially documented. The exit polls were based on more than 70,000 confidential questionnaires completed by randomly selected voters as they exited the polling place. The overall margin of error should have been under 1 percent. But the official result deviated from the poll projections by more than 5 percent a statistical impossibility."

The 2004 Presidential Election: Who Won The Popular Vote? An Examination of the Comparative Validity of Exit Poll and Vote Count Data
Executive Summary:
  • There is a substantial discrepancy well outside the margin of error and outcome determinative between the national exit poll and the popular vote count.
  • The possible causes of the discrepancy would be random error, a skewed exit poll, or breakdown in the fairness of the voting process and accuracy of the vote count.
  • Analysis shows that the discrepancy cannot reasonably be accounted for by chance or random error.
  • Evidence does not support hypotheses that the discrepancy was produced by problems with the exit poll.
  • Widespread breakdown in the fairness of the voting process and accuracy of the vote count are the most likely explanations for the discrepancy.
  • In an accurate count of a free and fair election, the strong likelihood is that Kerry would have been the winner of the popular vote.

Jesse Jackson demands Ohio presidential recount, blasts GOP election officials, and says Kerry supports the process
New findings indicate that Kerry's margins in 37 (of 88) Ohio counties are suspiciously low when compared to those garnered by Judge Ellen Connally, an unsuccessful Democratic Supreme Court candidate. The calculations focus on standardized county-wide ratios between bottom-of-the-ticket tallies won by Judge Connally versus those won by Kerry in heavily Republican, rural counties. According to a wide range of experts, there appears to be a systematic removal of Kerry votes by hackers who overlooked the Connally votes, which now clearly implies something went wrong. "It's simply not credible that a vastly underfunded African-American female candidate at the bottom of the ticket could outpoll John Kerry in Butler County," said Cliff Arneback, a lead attorney for the challenging legal team. Jackson said the situation "does not pass the smell test."

i am sorry if this mailing offended you, certainly it was not in any way a personal attack nor should you have taken it as such. i have taken you off the list.

on the contrary, i DO feel like a true moderate because i believe in living an ethical life with common decency and thoughtfulness towards others. i agree with the truths and principles taught by all the great religious leaders of the world. but, that is a far cry from what i see being done by "christians" and all the other religious fanatics and proselytizers around the world. you are right to point out that religion offers solace to the faithful, but, unfortunately it doesn't leave it at that! where is this solace when one religious group starts threatening all the others that they will go to hell if they don't follow their way and believe in "their" god? that this intolerance suddenly "justifies" torture, murder and genocide for dissension of thought? whatever happened to live and let live?? isn't THAT what Christ would want?

do you think that any true God would agree to the murders of thousands of innocent men, women and children in Iraq? please tell me how can you in good conscience vote for someone for president who has lied and deceived us into a war which has brought horrible torture and mass murder for the sake of securing military war contracts for his corporate friends? who has filled his war cabinet with members none of whom have served in the military and consequently who show NO EMPATHY FOR HUMAN LIFE and are only looking out to serve their special interests? (Colin Powell, the moderate, is the exception who knew better than to get into this Iraq mess and for his experience and wisdom has been ostracized!). to me, it is abundantly clear from this administration that the moderate view is unacceptable and that bloodshed and murder is a "triviality" for their personal political agendas. and to see these so-called "christians" approve of this nightmare of murder and national destruction is beyond my comprehension. if this doesn't abhor your christian sensibilities than i am at an utter loss to understand.

to be completely honest with you, i have never been so anti-religion in my life as i've become watching what is happening in the world and right here in our country in the name of religion. what i see is that the vast majority of the world's problems occur because of religion leading to war, repression and intolerance. and i see a bleak future under this administration with fascist repression under total religious hypocrisy. this is NOT what the great religious leaders of the world have taught us!!!

and btw, my parents who were lifelong hard-core republicans voted for Kerry because they, too, are extremely troubled and disturbed by the dangerous political precedents against our democracy that this underhanded bush administration has brought us. my parents have told me that they see the same symptoms of eroding freedom and growing repression occurring here now that they suffered under the fascist and communist regimes in Hungary. and that tells me a LOT.

p.s. in case you don't believe how many innocent people are being murdered in Iraq: https://www.iraqbodycount.org/

and, i'm not all left at all. i'm finding that i agree with the traditional conservatives these days (and especially note that they, too are against the bush administration and its fallacious policies):

The best vote information and monitoring site that I have found thus far. You can look up your state and see where your legislators stand with respect to HR2239. It was introduced on 5/22/2003 and is still languishing in the House. It was intended that this bill pass before this November's election. Shame on those legislators and special interests who let this bill stall. Verified Voting is asking that you get involved by calling and writing your representatives to get this through so we can get this whole fraud issue eliminated once and for all. I think this bill is our best hope for the future. Some of the salient points below.

H.R.2239: Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2003 (Introduced in House)

  • `(i)The voting system shall produce a permanent paper record, each individual paper record of which shall be made available for inspection and verification by the voter at the time the vote is cast...
  • `(i) No voting system shall at any time contain or use undisclosed software. Any voting system containing or using software shall disclose the source code of that software to the Commission, and the Commission shall make that source code available for inspection upon request to any citizen.
  • `(ii) No voting system shall contain any wireless communication device at all.
  • `(iii) All software and hardware used in any electronic voting system shall be certified by laboratories accredited by the Commission as meeting the requirements of clauses (i) and (ii).'.

Were you listening to Ray Taliaferro [KGO radio 810 AM from 1-5 am] this morning? Wow! He had some awfully fishy cases from Ohio. He mentioned a precinct where Bush got 4258 votes and Kerry 260 votes (if I can remember correctly). The lopsided nature is suspicious in itself, but then we learn that there were only 638 voters who voted there on Tuesday!!! It looks like you were right about those voting machines. A caller called in to say he had a friend in Ohio who said that in the primary election there were 4-6 voting booths or machines, but in the election on Tuesday there were only two. Hence the long lines. At another mostly democratic precinct all of the machines were broken until 8 PM.

Looks like Bush is going to get away with it again. I hope this will get lots of press. It's really making me sick. This is just the tip of the iceberg! Where were the international observers?

I can't believe this is happening.

Well, I just heard today that Diebold, the maker of the abominable e-voting machines, is 60% owned by Saudi Arabia... Note to self: investigate this.
Proof CNN is tampering with the election to cover the fraud

According to other posts there at the Democratic Underground, the exit polling data feed was altered for all news organizations including MSNBC-Ohio poll data.

The Ultimate Felony Against Democracy
"The hot story in the Blogosphere is that the 'erroneous' exit polls that showed Kerry carrying Florida and Ohio (among other states) weren't erroneous at all - it was the numbers produced by paperless voting machines that were wrong, and Kerry actually won. As more and more analysis is done of what may (or may not) be the most massive election fraud in the history of the world, however, it's critical that we keep the largest issue at the forefront at all time: Why are We The People allowing private, for- profit corporations, answerable only to their officers and boards of directors, and loyal only to agendas and politicians that will enhance their profitability, to handle our votes?"
The burning question on my mind.
Election results (updated with new color corrected version):

Everyone I talk to is stunned and in disbelief. It just doesn't make sense that bushCo got elected. Something stinks:
Black Box Voting
"Black Box Voting has taken the position that fraud took place in the 2004 election through electronic voting machines. We base this on hard evidence, documents obtained in public records requests, inside information, and other data indicative of manipulation of electronic voting systems. What we do not know is the specific scope of the fraud. We are working now to compile the proof, based not on soft evidence -- red flags, exit polls -- but core documents obtained by Black Box Voting in the most massive Freedom of Information action in history."
This is the top watchdog group on e-voting. They have demonstrated how the machines can easily be hacked. Keep an eye on this site.
